Now this is not to take away from the suffering and the unneeded death of the Indian peacekeeper (may his memory be a blessing), the IDF did not receive a notice of him driving in the area, an area which was signaled and warned as it was an active battle zone that needed to be avoided. Instead of blaming Israel the blame should solely be on Hamas for setting a new standard of exploiting uninvolved entities such as masking as UN workers, using ambulances for transport for military purposes and exploiting UN facilities and convoys which are all war crimes.

Edit: people are downvoting but even with all the confirmation bias you’ve been subjected to, there is no ignoring these facts. They may be ignored by you but in the ICC and ICJ they will be questioned and the rule of law will decide on who the responsibility befalls and who is guilty of exploiting the rules of war.

So you want just Indian media (which is nonsensical) to be present there and at the same time want international sympathy. Even a military state like Pakistan allowed Nick Robertson of CNN in Islamabad. We chose to capture Karachi port. Sky News from UK was showing reels that terrorists were residing in the places Indian bombed yet our media was claiming an Indian teacher in Kashmir was a terrorist.

How is it international news agencies fault that they couldn't get better sources here in India when our own government has systematically dismantled their structures in the country over the past few years?

International news networks have a larger local presence in Pakistan where there can question local sources, have news crews record local situations, and speak with local residents. 

Meanwhile between corporate takeovers led by Ambani and Adanis and the government using IT and ED to drive out international agencies, they barely have any presence in India anymore with just a few people working at a "New Delhi Desk" sharing what's being fed to them with their international HQ. 

Driving out UN peacekeeping forces would only mean more apathy from international audiences and governmental apparatus at best and outright support for other team at worst because "why don't you want international peace troops on the ground unless you are in the wrong". 

Also for the IMF funds, they weren't given what they asked for. But Pakistan's treasury needs to stay fluid because if their government falls, it would overnight transform into DIRECT military dictatorship or worse, fall under control of religious extremist groups which would be worse because you really don't want militant terrorist groups to have direct control over nukes.

Maybe we should worry about fixing the problem that causes UN to be there instead of complaining about UN presence. 370 is done, they should repeal AFSPA as well. Stop treating Kashmir like a military emergency and there will be no military emergency there. Even with heightened military presence terrorists will do what they want like they just did. So why waste all this money and spend it on making lives difficult for civilians? Replace the military with a solid intelligence oriented police department.

UN as an organization is toothless and will probably run out of money as USA starts to dictate its own terms for the world order. Bharat needs to get the USA to understand that eliminating terror originating from Pak is key to their security too. Trump doesn't have good regards for the UN anyway. We have to put our foot down and not have the UN in Kashmir.

Our best bet is to actually publicize with proof how Pakistan is helping terrorists to cause issues not only in India but worldwide. Have a top 10 most wanted list, camps and pledge to start eliminating these wherever they are - in India/PoK. This needs to be just like what CIA/US special forces and Mossad do. I hope india is doing this already.

With most news agencies it's not a conspiracy it just shows how incompetent their staff is at times. Most of their investigations are really good but these days with them chasing speed at the cost of all for regular reporting reality and truth take a back hand.

Every time the army has tried to reduce their presence, violence takes over and the loop continues. I would have loved we could have the same show of media personnel to show all is well on our side too but all we get is Al Jazeera spokesmen going around and showing the bad things... 

While I agree there's not a lot of media coverage and presence there, I'm not really sure if it's govt suppressing as channels like Al Jazeera always tend to find reports and interviews from the locals there... 

I was really hoping for removal of restrictions in the near future to show the actual benefits of revoking article 370 but the Pahalgam attack brings us back to square one.

The UN now only has [11 peacekeeping missions](https://peacekeeping.un.org/en), most of which are quite small, so there's a lot less demand for western peacekeepers worldwide. The governments of several developing countries actively seek out opportunities for their troops to be deployed as peacekeepers as the reimbursement payments for the UN help sustain a large military - most of the Fijian Army actually serves in the Middle East.

As for UNFIL, the UN [factsheet](https://peacekeeping.un.org/en/mission/unifil) shows that the largest contributions are actually from Indonesia and India. The battalion-sized western contingents are related to the history of this region and the conflicts there.
